BikeResults.com Introduces Member-Run Content Management System
July 1, 2001--Williston, VT - BikeResults.com, a leading company for providing value-based solutions for the cycling community, changed platforms for the management of the content on BikeResults.com. While the prior system was considered dynamic because of the drillable nature of race results and the automatic posting and linking of results, BikeResults has taken the technology one step further.
Now, BikeResults.com provides tools to the community so they can post, edit, and maintain various types of content. In addition, these features are linked to other elements such as the Individual Competition Resumes. Andy Bishop, president of Global Reach Sports extolled the benefits of such a system, "We've always tried to give a voice to members of our community through their Individual Competition Resumes. Now, we've empowered them to take that one step further and build more value into the services we provide."
Members can now create Team Web Pages, complete with built in links to racers' resumes and abilities to upload team photos while giving credit to team sponsors. Upon adding this feature, dozens of teams built their sites within the first 48 hours!
Furthermore, members can now submit articles, race reports, and other information for the main part of the BikeResults.com web site. This adds to the long-standing member ability of adding features such as event information, photos, training notes, and buddy lists.
This use of technology illustrates BikeResults.com's mission of placing equal importance on all their members, ranging from grassroots development to elite level racing. More exciting additions to this revolutionary content management system will be coming soon, such as a Comprehensive Rankings Program and a BikeResults Officials Program. Stay tuned.
