COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 26, 2002) - USA Cycling announced the signing of an agreement with Global Reach Sports, the company behind the BikeResults.com web site. Under the agreement, BikeResults.com will create on-line event registration, membership, results and rankings programs for the National Bicycle League (NBL), USA Cycling's BMX association.
"We are excited about working with Global Reach Sports. They will help USA Cycling deliver increased value to our BMX racing community," said USA Cycling Chief Operating Officer Steve Johnson. Under the agreement, Global Reach Sports will launch on-line event registration for NBL events. The new system will interface directly with the NBL's existing event management software. Global Reach Sports will also bring its real-time online results and rankings system to the NBL BMX community.
The new system also offers NBL members the opportunity to create on-line competition resumes. Members can share their accomplishments and information with family, friends and sponsors. Through the Global Reach Sports system, rider resumes will be automatically updated with current and past results. BMX teams will also be able to create their own web pages.
"We know our members cannot wait to see their names, results and rankings in our monthly magazine, BMX Today. I can only imagine how excited the racers will be to find our enhanced web results and rankings will also give them the capacity to develop a personal race resume. This will be a great opportunity for our riders to gain exposure and to also support their sponsors," said Bob Tedesco, NBL's executive director.
